Mayuri Sobti, Integrative Holistic Practitioner
Mayuri is an Integrative Holistic Practitioner who has a 3 year degree in Traditional Naturopathy (not be mistaken with Naturopathic Physicians who state licensed), is a Certified Nutritional Consultant through the AANC and a Certified Iridologist. In her practice, Mayuri uses natural evaluation tools including holistic case taking, iridology, tongue and pulse observation, reflexology and kinesiology to assess imbalances in the body. She effectively combines nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, detoxification therapies, therapeutic bodywork and energetic balancing to help restore the body’s natural balance. Mayuri is a Nationally Certified Reflexologist through the American Reflexology Certification Board and a Reiki Master/Teacher. She offers bodywork sessions that incorporate reflexology, acupressure & energy work. She is also a holistic health instructor who has created and teaches national level Holistic Nutrition and Reflexology training programs.
Noah Samuels, Integrative Holistic Practitioner
Noah is an Integrative Holistic Practitioner who is a Licensed Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist and Nutrition Consultant. He is board certified by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine. Noah has completed over 1000 clinic hours at the Emperor’s College clinic working under renowned leaders in the fields of Chinese Medicine and Clinical Nutrition. Noah integrates a strong knowledge of both Western and Eastern approaches to nutrition. He is available (upon request) to order an array of comprehensive lab tests, which can assess any nutritional and/or hormonal imbalances or deficiencies, depending on the individual presentation. He recommends dietary strategies and nutritional supplementation to achieve optimum wellness for his patients.
Elyse Williams, Clinical Herbalist
Elyse is a Clinical Herbalist, who holds a M.S. in Clinical Herbal Medicine from the Tai Sophia Institute and is a Certified Nutritional Specialist. She has a deep commitment to studying the universal principles behind health and dis-ease and translates those principles into functional practices and herbal remedies that balance the body back into health. Elyse blends her skills in phyto-pharmacology and energetic patterning to help clients shift old patterns through nutrition, constitutional plant remedies and healing bodywork. She is Reflexology Apprentice and offers hand and foot reflexology to help balance the body. Elyse is also the instructor for the Essential Oils and Herbal Medicine Programs.
Michael Liss, Classical Homeopath
Dr. Liss is a classical homeopathic practitioner. He has been practicing homeopathy for the past 29 years and has successfully treated hundreds of clients. Michael’s approach is constitutional homeopathy whereby he assesses the individual’s current and past health conditions. He addresses health patterns that manifest in the physical, mental and emotional bodies. His treatment restores health on all levels thereby removing not only the presenting health imbalance but also its deeper seated cause. Michael specializes in chronic health conditions (hormonal, immune, digestive, neurological, musculo-skeletal and organ specific) and emotional/psychological imbalances.
Master Paul Yan, Chinese Medicine Practitioner, Feng Shui Master
Master Paul Yan is a graduate from Shanghai Medical College (1981) and a Chinese Medicine practitioner. He offers Acupressure treatments along with simple food and home remedies to balance the mind and body. Drawing on his far-reaching family background in oriental metaphysics, he is also a Chinese Astrologer and a Feng Shui Master with 43 years experience and practice. To achieve accurate assessments and the most effective results, he uses both Compass and Flying Star to decode and treat energies at home or at work, and he applies Four Pillars (Ba Zi) and Purple King Astrology (Zi Wei Dou Shu) in his astrology readings. Dawit Asseffa, L.Ac.
Dawit Asseffa is a licensed acupuncturist in Washington, DC. He holds a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin in Austin, Texas. Dawit is a general practitioner who specializes in cancer support, immune disorders and anxiety related disorders. Dawit incorporates nutritional and lifestyle counseling, Chinese Herbal medicine, and bodywork therapies into his Acupuncture treatments in order to provide a comprehensive and holistic approach to his practice. In addition, Dawit is certified by the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine, recognizing his advanced knowledge and experience using Oriental Medicine to treat infertility for both women and men.
Melissa Lee, L.Ac.
Melissa Lee is a licensed acupuncturist in Washington DC and is nationally certified by the NCCAOM. After obtaining a Master’s degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at the New England School of Acupuncture (NESA), she then completed four months of further studies in China at the Chengdu University of TCM and the Zhejiang Provincial Hospital, gaining further insight into Chinese medicine. Melissa is a general practitioner with a special interest in women's health and anxiety/emotional issues. Melissa is also certified in Constitutional Facial Renewal, an effective treatment for rejuvenating the face as well as the whole body. She incorporates TCM modalities like Gua Sha, Moxa and pressure points, along with energy balancing techniques like tuning forks to create a wholesome and balancing treatment.
Peter Liebenthal, L.Ac.
Peter Liebenthal is a licensed acupuncturist in Washington DC and is nationally certified by the NCCAOM. After graduating with a Master’s degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the 5 Branches University in Santa Cruz, California, Peter continued his studies in China and Taiwan. In addition to TCM, he also practices Japanese, Five Element and Taiwanese style acupuncture and incorporates Chinese Herbal medicine and dietary and lifestyle advice into his treatments. Peter is a general practitioner who specializes in internal medicine, pain management, stress reduction and pediatrics. Peter is a certified instructor of Wild Goose Qi Gong, a powerful self-healing practice that integrates movement, breath work and awareness to cultivate vital energy and promote healing.
Karina Beleno Carney, L.Ac
Karina Beleno Carney studied at the Academy of Oriental Medicine at Austin and Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China. She is a general practitioner who combines acupuncture, Chinese herbs, nutrition and lifestyle counseling into her treatment plans. Karina has experience in treating pain, anxiety and depression, migraines, fibromyalgia, and digestive disorders, as well as in smoking cessation and cancer support. Her particular clinical interest is in reproductive medicine. She has received birth doula training from toLabor and is committed to helping women and their partners before conception, throughout pregnancy and after childbirth.

My-Hanh Weinberg received her Master’s degree from Tai Sophia Institute in Laurel, MD and has been practicing acupuncture for the past 17 years. My-Hanh’s practice encompasses a wide range of conditions including musculoskeletal pain, internal disorders, gastrointestinal disorders, fatigue, fertility, women's health, anxiety, and depression. She uses acupuncture, Chinese herbs, acupuncture, dietary therapies and lifestyle counseling to alleviate the symptoms and also to educate the client. Noah Samuels, L.Ac.
Noah Samuels, L.Ac., graduated magna cum laude from Emperor’s College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Los Angeles. He is a licensed acupuncturist in the District of Columbia. He is nationally certified by the NCCAOM in Oriental Medicine. Upon graduation, Noah ran his own successful practice, Turning Point Acupuncture, in Santa Monica where he treated numerous cases from the mundane to the complex. Noah specializes in internal medicine including chronic health conditions such as allergies, digestive disorders, anxiety, depression, men's health, women's health, diabetes, stroke support, HCV, HIV, cancer support and a special protocol for macular degeneration. In addition, Noah has extensive experience working with ADD/ADHD and autism. Noah combines various acupuncture techniques and Chinese herbs with nutritional assessment and dietary intervention.
Deirdre Ottengren, Detoxification Therapist
Deirdre has been training and working in collaboration with our Naturopathic Doctors for over 3 years. She is our Detoxification Therapist and offers Therapeutic Body Wrap Treatments -- using a combination of aloe vera, herbs, sea weed, clay and other natural remedies -- to support the body’s cleaning organs and to stimulate circulation and lymphatic flow. She also offers Dry Brushing, Castor Oil Packs, Ear Candling and Water Detoxification (Q2) Therapy. Deirdre is Certified Reflexologist and offers hand and foot reflexology, along with essential oils therapy.
Padma Maxwell, CHt, CSP, Coach, LMT
Padma is an intuitive life coach, educator and healer, who helps others recognize and connect with their own intuition, potential and purpose. She offers a holistic approach to her practice by combining bodywork therapies, energetic healing and thought redirection based on the Laws of Attraction. Padma is a Cranio-Sacral Practitioner through the Upledger Institute, a Clinical Hypnotherapist through the American Council of Hypnotists and a Licensed Massage Therapist. With ten years of experience, she combines a unique blend of healing modalities and individualizes each session to the needs of the client, bringing a deep sense of compassion and understanding into her sessions.

Carole is a Licensed Massage Therapist who offers Deep Tissue, Swedish and Pre-Natal Massage. She has advanced training in Oncology Massage, Detoxification Massage, and Raindrop Therapy. Carole incorporates Castor Oil Packs, Essential Oils and Hot Stones into her treatments. She is also a Reflexology Apprentice and often incorporates reflexology into her therapeutic bodywork sessions. Carole specializes in helping clients with chronic health conditions, detoxification and oncology related support, work- and stress-related physiological and emotional tension.

Naphawan O’Shea, RN, Thai Yoga
Naphawan O’Shea is from North East Thailand and has over 20 years of experience in both Eastern and Western healing methods. She is a Licensed Registered Nurse and Midwife in Thailand and Registered Nurse in the U.S. She is a Practitioner of Thai Traditional Medicine with a specialty in Asian Body Work techniques such as Thai Yoga Massage, Trigger point, Acupressure, Reflexology and Thai herbal compress. Naphawan combines her expertise in Thai Traditional Medicine and years of experience with Asian Bodywork to offer a deeply therapeutic session.
Sara Salam, Energy Healer
Sara Salam is a certified Master Practitioner in Energy Medicine and Luminous Healing and trained as life skills teacher, crisis counselor, and self defense instructor. She offers life coaching and specialized interventions founded in the Shamanic traditions. Sara creates a safe and welcoming environment so that her clients can transform past trauma into sources of strength, and she helps her clients to align with their highest life purpose. Sara will adapt healing techniques and interventions to meet the unique needs of each situation and client individually.
Janet Thomas, Licensed Esthetician
Janet is a licensed esthetician, makeup artist and nail therapist. She received her esthetics & nail treatment training from Seattle University Esthetics program in 1999. She is a certified Holistic Esthetician from the Dr. Hauschka Institute in Amherst, Massachusetts and has completed studies in Aromatherapy for Spa Treatments at Aveda Institute, NYC. Janet specializes in holistic and organic skin care and effectively uses lymphatic pressure point massage to help detoxify the skin and body. She is an advocate of a holistic approach to achieving and maintaining healthy skin, nails & hair using all naturally derived products. Janet also offers organic body care treatments: sea weed and clay wraps and salt scrubs. |
