ABOUT TULSI

REIKI

Reiki is perhaps one of the oldest and most intuitive forms of natural healing that has been a part of every culture and healing tradition in the world. Sometimes known as ‘laying on of hands' Reiki brings healing and soothing energy to the mind, body and spirit. The word Reiki is Japanese for spiritually guided life force energy (Rei for "God's Wisdom” and Ki for "life force energy").

How Does It Work?

Reiki is based on the theory that there is an unseen "life force energy" that flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If this "life force energy" is low, then one is more likely to experience problems on the physical, emotional and mental levels, but if this energy is high, then one is more capable of experiencing health and well-bring on all levels.

Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts/feelings are attached. In doing so, Reiki clears and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Reported Benefits

Reiki encourages healing on all levels: physical, emotional, and spiritual. Often, the sources of physical dis-ease can be found at the emotional or spiritual levels. Reiki is a powerful means for:

  • Supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself;
  • Changing unwanted habits;
  • Re-balancing the energy centers in the body;
  • Overcoming mental and emotional obstacles;
  • Stress reduction;
  • Bringing the body into harmony by releasing physical and emotional blockages; and
  • Promoting a state of total relaxation.

A Reiki Session

A Reiki session typically lasts one hour. The practitioner gently places their hands slightly above or on the body, transmitting healing, soothing energy. The session is tailored specifically for each individual, incorporating other holistic modalities such as deep breathing, therapeutic essential oils or hot stones as needed. A series of three to eight sessions is typically suggested to see desired health benefits.
