SHAMANIC HEALING
What is Energy Healing?
In order for us to heal past trauma and transform our lives, our body, mind and spirit have to work together harmoniously. Energy Healing is perhaps one of the oldest and most intuitive forms of natural healing. It has been part of every culture and healing tradition in the world. Energy Healing is based on the theory that there is a "life force energy" that flows around and through the physical body. Early life events, traumas, belief systems, and genetic imprints are stored in this energy body and can lead to health issues, poor response to stress, and difficult emotional and behavioral patterns. Energy work clears imprints in the energy body and allows the client to step into a sense of inner peace, strength and vitality.
An energy healing session typically lasts between 60-90 minutes. Each session is tailored specifically for each individual, incorporating other holistic modalities such as deep breathing, therapeutic essential oils or hot stones, as needed. Intuitive knowledge is often received and shared with the client.
What is Shamanic Healing?
Shamanism is a range of traditional beliefs and practices concerned with communication with the spirit world. A practitioner of shamanism is known as a shaman. Shamans are known to be intermediaries between the human and spirit worlds and are considered spiritual beings with the ability to heal, work with energies and 'see' visions. The essential characteristics of a shaman are mastery of energy and fire as a medium of transformation. Being closely connected with nature - plants, animals and the elements - shamans are able to access and harness the energies and spirits around us. They bring back 'energy medicine' as messages that help the soul gain its rightful power and place in the Universe.

A Shamanic Healing Session:
The shamanic practitioner works with her medicine bag (Mesa), inside which are healing stones (Kuja). After a brief interview with the client, the practitioner will ask the client to choose a Kuja from her Mesa, connect with the feelings of the topic, and blow the energy of those feelings into the stone. The client then lies (fully clothed) on a cushioned treatment table and relaxes until the work begins. The practitioner will place the stone on one of the client's Chakras (energy centers on the body) and ask the client to breathe regularly. She may also use her rattle to facilitate the relaxation and release of energy. Depending on what the practitioner senses, the session will continue with different modalities and tools that are most effective for the topic the client is working on. At the end of the session, the client will have the time to share the experience. The practitioner might provide additional insights and offer guidance for "homework" so that the transformation can be anchored in the client's daily life.
